Our farmers are responsible for growing crops, breeding cattle and producing food. Agricultural production has become more and more intensive in recent decades. Intensive farming often has a negative influence on water, soil and air quality, climate change, biodiversity, odor nuisance and water management. Agriculture can, however, influence the living environment in a positive way. For example, urban farming can benefit local food production and/or the image of a town or city.
In our working group Agriculture, Animals and Nature, we try to find solutions for creating sustainable agriculture and farming without destroying biodiversity.
About our working group chairperson Máté Bózoky:

Thanks to my personal work experience, I know the agricultural sector. We are talking about a complex sector in which human resources and technological development must be taken into account at the same time. The EU is spending a huge amount of money on this sector. I believe that a change of attitude is needed in the agricultural sector. The conservation of biodiversity and the ecosystem must be a priority, so the necessary technologies are needed. To this end, I support our organization liaising with environmental organizations and lobbying for environmental policy to promote sustainable green development.
If you are interested in participating in this working group, please send an email with your contact details to: wg-agriculture-animals-and-nature@elfr.eu and we will come back to you as soon as possible. Please put workinggroups@elfr.eu in CC. We are looking forward to your contribution!
